HOW DOES IT WORK?

Consultations are conducted virtually over GOOGLE MEET. Prior to the consultation, you will receive an email with a Google Meet link along with instructions on how to join. We ask that you read the information below on how to best prepare for the meeting in advance. The structure of the consultation is flexible and collaborative to address your specific needs and preferences.

PRICING & PAYMENT

Standard consultations are 55 minutes and cost $500. This fee not only covers our time in the meeting, but the preparation time needed for sketches, compiling links, etc. in advance.

Once you select your preferred date and time, you will receive an email with a payment link to secure your consultation. Your appointment will be held for 24 hours upon scheduling. If payment is not submitted within that 24 hours, your spot will be released. Please note this fee is non-refundable, although meeting times may be rescheduled. Read more about our policy below.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE FROM FULL-SERVICE ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN?

Full-service architectural design involves hiring an design firm, often requiring a significant budget, to fully design and execute a project with a complete set of drawings. Some clients use the consultation as the first step towards determining if they would like to proceed with a full-service project, especially while evaluating land for new builds or taking on potential renovation projects.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE?

At your initial booking, you will receive a questionnaire to detail all of your design needs, including: project location, style preferences, budget details, topics and rooms/structures for discussion. This allows us to understand your broader expectations and goals for the consultation.

We strongly encourage you to prepare for the consultation based on the level of detail you wish to go into.

In order to prepare, you may want to write out a list of all the questions you’d like to get answered, list out any links you’d like to share, and put together a simple document / slideshow or shareable folder to walk us through via Google Meet’s screen share feature. This document could include photos of your space/home, floor plans, relevant documents, pieces of furniture or decor you have your eye on (or already own), mood board images, swatches of materials – anything you think will be helpful and capture your authentic style and needs!

ARE MULTIPLE GUESTS ALLOWED?

Multiple guests may be on the call provided you are all physically together sharing the same screen, as well as one additional guest - such as your contractor, landscaper, friend or relation. Please provide contact information with the questionnaire if an additional invitation should be sent.

WHAT ITEMS ARE NOT COVERED IN THE CONSULTATION?

The following items are areas that may be covered with a full-service contract and are not included with a consultation:

  • Providing precise measurements

  • Personally ordering any items or overseeing any construction

  • Tangible design deliverables beyond guidance and support (such as CAD renderings, detailed drawings for construction, or room mockups)

  • Information on custom vendors or personal contacts

WHAT IF WE DON’T HAVE TIME TO COVER EVERY TOPIC I WANT TO DISCUSS?

It happens! If you find that you don’t have time to get all of your questions answered, or prefer to make a smaller investment over multiple sessions rather than a full-service contract, we suggest booking another consultation.

CAN I SHARE SCREENSHOTS OR RECORDINGS ON SOCIAL MEDIA?

Absolutely! Sharing is encouraged as long as credit is provided to Studio Amanda Geddes and tagged (if on Instagram).

WHAT IF I’M DISSATISFIED WITH THE CONSULTATION / THE ADVICE?

Following years of formal training, licensure, and over a decade of experience designing homes and leading projects around the country, Amanda can guarantee that she has the experience required to be able to advise you on most architectural design-related topics. Each consultation is taken with the same amount interest and dedication to finding solutions as our full-service clients. However, we cannot guarantee that you will be satisfied with all the advice you receive, nor take responsibility for the results of any decisions you make following this advice. We therefore cannot offer refunds based on your level of satisfaction with your consultation.

WHAT IF NONE OF THE TIMES WORK WITH MY SCHEDULE?

RESCHEDULING & REFUNDS

We understand that life happens and our schedules may need to shift.

You may reschedule your consultation up to 48 hours before the meeting time. Please note, clients are allowed one reschedule between each completed consultation. Any reschedules beyond that will politely be declined and charged in full.

We do not offer refunds for any cancellations.
